Hire a hottie, put her in wigs, gets some great action scenes...and try to stay away from the soap opera antics that crept in later in the series. Plus, imagine the instant feel-good ABC gets from running promos saying "From the producers of Lost," even if Abrams just lends his name to the show but doesn't actually work on it. E! doesn't confirm that the show is happening, just that ABC is considering it, and since it's probably the absolute best time to be in the J.J. Abrams business - on top of all his movie stuff, NBC just added the Verizon Guy's Undercovers to its fall line-up - that's probably a big reason the network would even consider going back to SD-6. Plus, spy franchises are prone to reinvention, and it's not like the story isn't easy enough to replicate with a new agent and new circumstances. You might even get the once-in-a-blue-moon guest shot by Garner. So yes, lament the lack of originality if you want, but finding a hit show on TV is a tough racket, so if you can make the same hit twice, especially with the kind of subject that actually does lend itself to a return visit, go for it.

Why not put a place to vote, on the network website, and see how many people are interested in a program BEFORE they cancel it?
