Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 9:21AM 'Lost: The Complete Collection' DVD/Blu-ray Details
Lost: The Complete Collection is headed to DVD and Blu-ray, and it will only set you back about a car payment. The DVD set of all six seasons with special features goes for $250, but if you've got Blu-ray, why not just throw down another 30 bones for the champagne room treatment?
The full series (as well as season six on its own) is available on August 24th. In addition to giving you the chance to waste a few months watching every episode in order (OK...maybe not waste), I think this is one of the very few series that you'll want to watch over again, maybe a year at a time, which is what I did before each season. Not all five seasons before this last one, for example, just the preceding season. But I think it's worth the money if you loved the show, because you'll definitely run 'em over again at some point.
As far as features go, you can check out 15 Lost "Slapdowns," in which producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof are confronted by celebrity Lost fans, who ask tough questions about the events on the show. There's also a lighthearted highlight of every character who died during the show's run, tours of Oahu, and plenty of other stuff. For example, it's the first DVD/Blu-ray set I know of that comes with a black light penlight. It's also the first with a replica of the Lost island, but then, you'd kind of expect that it would be.
That J.J. Abrams is sneaky and he also loves giving his audience their money's worth, so I expect there could be some Easter Eggs loaded into this set. What they'd lead to, I have no idea, but you can bet he wouldn't let an opportunity like this go with nothing super cool to show for it.

Screw the car payment in August. I NEED the complete LOST set on Blu-Ray!
I've avoided buying individual seasons for this very reason! It looks really awesome - and you're right, an extra $30 for Blu-ray is a great deal.
And there is a short film that deals with the Hurley As #1 on the Island years. Jorge Garcia talked about it a bunch on a couple podcasts
