Trailer - Adrien Brody's Direct-to-DVD 'Experiment'

Adrien Brody has had two movies in theaters in the last month: Splice and Predators give the actor his highest profile releases in some time, and he has a third film lined up for September. Trouble is...it's only on DVD. Sony has decided not to put The Experiment in theaters, in spite of the fact that it stars Brody and Forest Whitaker and based on the trailer, it doesn't look that bad. ScreenRant reports that the company's home entertainment division has picked it up for a September 21st release after trying in vain for several months to find a theatrical distributor. ScreenRant also says that the bloody nature of stuff in The Experiment - a remake of a German film from 2001 - probably kept the majors away from giving this one a fair shake in theaters. Here's the trailer, from MovieWeb, and I can see where it might have an audience. A limited one, probably, but perhaps enough that a theatrical release could have been warranted.
