Trailer - Javier Bardem in González Iñárritu's 'Biutiful'

Having already established himself as one of the finest actors in the world, one who might hold a distinct advantage over the monolingual box office stars in America because he's a major factor in Spanish-speaking countries as well as a notable presence in the US, Javier Bardem is following up on his recent success by returning to his roots. He's teaming with Alejandro González Iñárritu, the Mexican-born filmmaker whose films Amores Perros, Babel, and 21 Grams are all Oscar nominees, on Biutiful, and so far, so good: Bardem won the Best Actor award at Cannes this year, and now Focus will release the film later this year, in time for awards consideration. Here's the international trailer for Biutiful, which starts slowly and then really builds over a couple minutes. You get a vague sense of what's going on without the whole plot being given away. Spied at Trailer Spy We'll keep you posted on release dates; Biutiful will see a European release in late August, so it's probably an October start for this in the states. Also of note: This film is one of the five in Universal's $100 million deal with González Iñárritu, Guillermo del Toro, and Alfonso Cuarón, the third one, I think, but the first directed by any of those three filmmakers.

I couldnt agree w/ you more Colin, Javier Bardem is one of the top actors in the US & in the world no doubt about it, he is truly amazing on screen

I saw the film Collateral the other day for fun (a great film by the way) where I think Cruise , Foxx (Oscar nod) did amazing & actually were really undervalued & not appreciated like I think they shouldve
--- But Javier (who plays a mob leader of sorts) has like a 5 min scene, a monologue w/ Foxx in the film & he wonderfully steals the scene, it was sooo impressive I was amazed, the man was brilliant just around 5 min!!!

Inarritu has always been a favorite of mine in the foreign directors category, his films are incredible, & this too has Oscar buzz, I'd love to see some award buzz happen for this!
