First Photos from Darren Aronofsky's 'Black Swan'

USA Today featured some new shots of Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan on Thursday, and what with at the Comic-Con stuff, we just never had a chance to get to them until now. The film features Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, both pictured in the set, but we begin with Portman all dressed up for one of her character's ballet performances. Black Swan is a psychological drama bout Nina (Portman), a ballerina whose life gets knocked off its axis after being selected to play the lead in Swan Lake.

"Pressures mount as her overbearing mother (Barbara Hershey) pushes her to succeed and her manipulative dance master (Vincent Cassel) commands her to be more seductive and loose in her performance. Complicating matters is the arrival of Lily (Kunis), a sultry dancer who exhibits all the innate ease and sexuality that Nina lacks. Nina begins to fixate on the newcomer as the two forge an unusual relationship."

The film will open the Venice Film Festival in September, and a late fall release is likely in the US.
