Friday, July 30, 2010 at 5:27PM Lame Trailer for 'Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage'
The news isn't that they made a new Sinbad movie; it's that they shouldn't have. And you can tell almost immediately that something foul is afoot. And then...the commanding voice of Patrick Stewart. The hell?

Even though this is just a teaser, Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage simply couldn't look much worse. I didn't know a thing about the production company, Giant Flick Films, so I went to the company's official website. Oh boy.

Giant Flick Films LLC is a full fledge production and distribution company of the new digital age. Based in Hollywood, CA and fully independent. Founded in 2003 by a group of artist, we are not only creative but true fans ourselves. Our goal is to simply broaden creativity and project imagination of a new generation of cinema. We produce high-end feature films, designed to introduce the movie fan to a whole new broad range of stories and ideas from around our wonderful planet from artists with fresh ideas. "We believe the best stories still have not been told, and some of the best ones are long forgotten and we would like a hand at telling them".Well, which is it? Are the best stories still untold or have they been told but forgotten? My head hurts. I guess I should take some comfort in the knowledge that Giant Flick isn't some fly-by-night, half fledge production and distribution company of the new digital age; you can never be too careful these days. Enjoy the trailer...presented in Ray Harryhausen's Dynamation.

Say it ain't so Patrick! I half suspect that none other than Bobby Bowfinger is behind this one. Maybe he blackmailed Mr. Stewart into doing it with a video of him flashing the Laker Girls. Not to mention, I think I've seen better special effect offerings in 1980s made-for-TV movies.
Wow. Perhaps they call themselves Giant Flick because their movies are giant boogers?
This post is typical of people who have no understanding of special effects. I have to say, this looks much better than Clash of the Titans, and it looks as though it will be respectful to Ray Harryhausen and his classic films. Not only that, but the stop motion effects in a live-action film is refreshingly new and a considerable risk when even straight-to-dvd shoe-string budget movies are using crappy CGI effects. Something respectful and a breath of fresh air...My, it's so horrible.
From the website you can see that one guy is running the whole company and he also is playing the titular role of Sinbad. Sounds like "Giant Flicks" might be code for "Rented Office Space in the Valley".
