Oh crap, I'd forgotten all about this. I knew the fifth Finale Destination movie was getting made, but that title. Ugh. We railed about 5nal Destination a couple months ago - with a couple readers commenting about how much it resembled Anal Destination - and then I blocked it out. So unhappy that it's back.

Steven Quale, a longtime James Cameron crew member, will direct the second 3-D movie in the series, and now we have a start date for the production to go along with the already announced August 26, 2011 release date. 5nal - man, is that lousy - will start shooting next month in Vancouver.
All we know about the next chapter is that the opening scene will involve a suspension bridge, so that has some potential, I guess, particularly in 3-D. Of course, it won't be a real suspension bridge collapsing. But what if it were? Big balls on that stunt team. It's still a swing for the fences approach, but they kind of have to do that moving forward to justify the series continuing.
I do find it funny that New Line simply had no explanation why the fourth film, which executives more or less admitted they knew wasn't the best of the bunch, went on to be the most profitable Destination yet. That's why the called it The Final Destination; they honestly thought the last movie was kind of obligatory. Now, however, they have to reward the fans who came out to support the fourth one. Hopefully, the title isn't an indicator of the rest of the film's attributes.

Anyone else read 'Anal Destination'? Or am I alone.
