Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 4:38AM Hayden Christensen's 'Vanishing on 7th Street' Trailer
Although I'm not really a huge Star Wars guy, at least not after 1980, I always dug me some Darth Vader.
So over the past decade, I have thought that it's a shame George Lucas picked Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen to play the
pre-Vader. What's weird about Christensen is he showed some signs early - take Shattered Glass - but generally
speaking, he's just bad.

He's got a new flick that at the very least has a few good moments in the trailer. It's called The Vanishing on 7th
Street and with Brad Anderson directing (he made The Machinist as well as the underappreciated
Transsiberian), I've got higher hopes than normal.
This film echoes the current trend of post-apocalyptic movies, but if my apocalypse included Thandie Newton, that would
soften the blow somewhat. Check out the trailer:
Yeah, that could have some potential, I guess. Then again, Legion had some cool stuff in its trailers. So proceed
with caution.
And speaking of caution, Christensen tells MTV that we may get a sequel to Jumper. No thanks; you really don't have
to.

Why are you so hard on hayden? He's a good actor to me. I thought he portrayed his character in shattered glass very well. I also say he did well as the young darth. I respect his acting however, would I go to the theater to watch the sequel to jumper? No, but he did his role fine, actually, better than Samuel jackson; he was terrible in jumper as well as many other films. I will give haydens new film a try.
hayden is horrible scriptgirl. just horrible, especially as darth vader. no acting chops at all. having said all that, i like jumper and would like to watch "jumping" (jumper 2) at home on dvd! also, this film/story looks interesting, and hayden didn't stand out, maybe he's been taking acting lessons?!?
Really? Wow! I guess I'm all alone here Sammy. Am I his only fan? somebody help! but seriously Sammy, I'm sure we both agree that brad Anderson has to deliver as well. sometimes the producers/ filmmakers, etc. can make a movie badly & in the average movie watchers' eye, will blame it on the actor. Ok, we agree to disagree I respect that. something tells me this new movie isn't going to be that good after watching the trailer. what do you think Sammy?
Oh, u already answered my question. Hayden did really stand out to me as well. I hope he delivers a well performance so you can change your mind ;)
ha ha, me too. my biggest problem with him is anakin skywalker. i think we was very bad in episode II and III. and ever since then i can't help but not like him for "half-way" ruining my favorite movie trilogy's new trilogy. (jar-jar was obviously a problem as well, and a slight lack of vision by lucas for the whole series) so maybe i'm just not giving him a chance, but he's pretty bad in jumper, but on another note, i'm pretty sure you are the first person i've ever heard refer to themselves as a "fan" of his!
Slow down folks....
I do did & still somewhat do, think that Christensen can still become a good actor.... He had great early signs of promise even with his Star Wars role, he got pretty much universal praise for being a newcomer & being thrown into the series, (which really no one enjoyed besides the obvious classics)
He did do good work after that, or better than average, but has been on a decline ever since, I still think he has the chops to make himself better, I dunno I've always seen something in him that I liked....
Goooo scriptgirl lol
You are ALL WRONG. HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN is an excellent actor, trained at the New York Strassberg Actor's Studio along with Scarlett Johansen and others. He also atttended a prestigious High School where he had to audition AND get good grades to maintain his slot there. He's been acting since he was about 8 years old but more in earnest since he was 13 years old. He just "happened" to be thrust into the limelight in an extremely strong way at age 18 because George Lucas liked his acting with Natalie Portman. He has done wonderfully well - YOU should have done that well! I doubt you even know what is involved with acting in Hollywood pictures, let alone the "attack" it gives you via the media, and overly fanatical Star Wars fans. The "public" can be brutal and if you are not strong you wind up like River Phoenix or the guy that played in Dark Knight that killed himself. GIVE HIM SOME CREDIT for heaven's sake!!
