Friday, August 20, 2010 at 8:54PM 'Ninja Turtles' Reboot Hires 'Iron Man' Writers
If 2012 will really be the end of the world, there's going to be plenty of entertainment options to lead us to the light. Paramount now wants to lock in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, another attempt at a live-action franchise with this well-known title.

To do that, the studio has moved to hire Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, co-writers of the first Iron Man movie. That's the good news. The bad news is that they also co-wrote Punisher: War Zone...and so far, that's about it. One of those movies made $585 million worldwide, the other only $10 million. But the median amount is almost $300 million, and that would be a decent amount for a new TMNT flick.
Deadline quotes a source as saying, "The studio is looking at this as its next huge franchise, like Transformers," but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Paramount also thought G.I. Joe would fit that description. It's not as simple as just wanting it to be so, even if Michael Bay is executive producing this.
Regardless, the hiring of Holloway and Marcum carries with it a first draft deadline of October, and that's six weeks away. Hopefully, the announcement of their new gig has come a while after they were actually given the job. That's a crazy turnaround time for a potential tentpole. But October seems firm, and once the script is in some form, Paramount will look for directors.

Story first I hope. Was so excited when I saw the trailer for the last CGI turtles, and so sad when I found out what the story was. Hell take the original live action movie, that is still enjoyable to watch today, and just modernize it.
