Changes Are Coming to The Big Picture

About a month ago, I made a very difficult decision that I hope will be the right one. Capitalizing on another opportunity, I have decided to step down from my role here at The Big Picture effective September 7th. So hurl your insults while you can... What does that mean for you? Hopefully, a better experience here, for starters. The site is not going away, and in fact, the new management will be breaking in several contributors - something I have only done rarely for one-off guest reviews and the like - and you'll get more than one opinion about each story. There should be more stories, too, and probably more willingness to cover that latest Kevin Smith update. So you might notice a couple new names over the next few weeks and some other cosmetic alterations. That's par for the course, though, and I think it's great that they're moving so swiftly to make this place their own while keeping some of its history intact. Incidentally, if you're interested in writing for The Big Picture, contact admin@favecompany.com with writing samples and offer to help. Now then, as for me, I'll still be writing film reviews for Las Vegas City Life and Tucson Weekly, and perhaps something else down the line a bit. Thanks for reading along all this time. We actually started an older version of this site in 2002, and it became Get The Big Picture in 2008. Millions and millions of words later, I'm grateful that you've chosen to stop here from time to time. Please continue to do so. Thanks - Colin

I have been a HUGE fan for a long time. This site is apart of my morning, afternoon, and evening. I should have gotten a life a long time ago. Now I know that my favorite blog authors, like dogs, don't last forever.

Just a thank you for what you've done until now and good luck with everything in the future. This has always been my number one source of movie news/reviews/opinion simply because it was consistently well written and engageable.

Sad to hear you will be leaving this site as I've been following your reviews since you Phoenix radio show reviews (miss the damn dirty ape sounder). If you could, when you have them, provide links to where we could find your reviews at your new homes i'm sure many of us would be interested.
