"The Social Network is pure fiction", says Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg.
Premiering on September 24th at the New York Film Festival, Social Network is creating some buzz among those involved which has Mark Zuckerberg worried that the film will be seen as a true biopic. Based on the book, The Accidental Billionaires", the film portrays the Facebook founder in a less than flattering way. Or quite simply, a guy who started Facebook for fame, fortune and to hook up with hot girls.

"Honestly,I wish that when people try to do journalism or write stuff about Facebook, that they at least try to get it right." Coincidentally enough, Ben Mezrich, the author of Accidental Billionaires, actually reached out to Zuckerberg to get his account on just what really happened. I guess the next time an award winning author sends you an email you should think twice about putting it in the virtual garbage.
To Zuckerberg's credit, all things in hollywood are exaggerated. In the film, you'll see plenty of hot girls on Harvard's campus and some racy sex scenes which I'm sure, is little more than embellished to increase its appeal.
Mark Zuckerberg recently was sued by Paul Ceglia, who claims that he should own 84% of the company. The filing notes that Zuckerberg was contracted by Paul to code a website called, The Facebook, during his days at Harvard. In fact, he has this in writing, shown here.
My take? The book is probably more than just fiction (book is actually filed under "Business" at bookstores) but became more fiction when they turned it into a movie. For the guys that know the entire truth (ahem, Mark Z.), its more convenient to say the entire movie is fiction because the stylized version of the movie is now pretty far from the truth.

Perhaps Zuckerberg should remember the Oscar Wilde's line that, " there is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
