Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 6:43PM Effective Five-Minute 'Thor' Trailer from Comic-Con
At the risk of giving away entirely too much, here's the five-minute Comic-Con trailer for Thor that took a couple weeks to remain available online in a high quality format. Kudos to The Movie Pool for tracking it down.

My two concerns going in (three if you count Kenneth Branagh never working in this style before) were who would play the Norse God and how they'd depict Asgard. Well, I like Chris Hemsworth the more that I see him and from the establishing shots of Asgard seen here, I'm OK with it. A little like Cloud City from Empire Strikes Back, but that's probably a better angle than trying to make it exactly like the comic.
Again, it's five minutes long (there seems to be s a dead minute at the end), so it could be showing too much too soon. For instance, the dialogue is really poor outside of Clark Gregg, the connective tissue between this film and the rest of the Avengers movies. But as an effects-laden action movie, it looks pretty good. Of course, so did Wolverine.

it was ok. there were some good things like thor, asgard, and destroyer. but some things bugged me like the acting, dialogue, costumes, even the action. something just felt off. i wasn't as excited after the trailer compared to the first time i saw Iron Man I or even inrcredible hulk footage. i'm still excited to see it just because i hope they really didn't show everything even though it was a five minute trailer. next summer!
I just think they tried to show us a ton of stuff. I do hate the dialogue, but trailers don't work at this length, anyway, as a general rule.
Just wait until they up-convert it into 3 mutha fuckin d! Then you'll be eatin' those statements, Andrew!
With these "Marvel Movies" it's kinda' like The Avengers will be the main movie with bit parts by major Marvel heroes, and then there are the lesser sequels - only they've made those lesser sequels FIRST. Some of 'em anyway. Ironman turned out to be the greater of course. It's just a furtherence of how unique this phenomena is.
Total piece of trash.
I thought it was encouraging for the movie, although I agree that the Avengers movie will be the big one.

Looks lame. Compare this to the SuckerPunch Trailer. I think its obvious that Marvel is cashing in. I'm already burnt out on all these comic book movies. Not looking forward to the Avengers either.
What are you people complaining about? This looks great! Yes, they did show a little too much of it, but what they show has got me excited.
