Josh Brolin compares Megan Fox to Katharine Hepburn

In an interview with Playboy magazine, Josh Brolin likened his Jonah Hex costar Megan Fox to Katharine Hepburn. According to Brolin, the former Transformers star is "doing something more interesting than what a lot of other young people in movies are doing."

Brolin feels that like Hepburn, Fox just isn't appreciated in her own time. According to Brolin:

"Katharine Hepburn, one of the most appreciated actresses today, was hated back in her heyday. She was box office poison ... They didn't understand her. Yet now we all look back and go, 'Okay, she was incredible.'"

He went on to add: "I would love to be the person who puts Megan in a film in which she can actually do something interesting." If only Brolin had thought of that before they both did Johan Hex.

I do think that, to a certain degree, people enjoy tearing down Fox for fun. Unlike a lot of young starlets, she manages to stay out of trouble (except when she is publicly feuding with Michael Bay). Outside of a few off-the-wall comments in interviews, she keeps a fairly low profile.

Still, to some degree, I can see why people find her annoying. She's a gorgeous movie star who has thus far been little more than eye candy in action movies. Fox hasn't really done a film that has tested her as an actress or given her a chance to show what she is capable of. Still, just because she hasn't done it yet, it doesn't mean she isn't capable of taking on more challenging roles.

Do I think she's the next Katharine Hepburn? Well ... no. But I do hope she finds a challenging role that shows us definitively what she is actually capable of.

He has no comprehension of history!!! Hepburn was never HATED at all are you serious???? She was box office poison yes for a BRIEF PERIOD. But Hepburn was earning Oscar nomination after Oscar nomination throughout her entire career... Critics adored her DURING HER INCREDIBLE CAREER not just after....i mean what the fuck
