Saturday, January 1, 2011 at 11:01AM 'Cogan's Trade' to Begin Filming Next Spring & Casting Rumors
While I think the only confirmed actor in Cogan's Trade is Brad Pitt, it looks really promising. As it reunites him with Andrew Dominik (if you haven't seen The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, you should!), that duo alone gives it potential. Now there's a host of other casting rumors to go along with the news that this film should begin filming in New Orleans this March.

So, time for those delicious casting rumors. Before I begin, I have to say I'm hesitant about "dream casts" for movies, especially after something like The Tourist (if you haven't seen that yet, save your money). However, on top of the potential casting of Casey Affleck we reported on awhile back, we can add Sam Rockwell, Josh Brolin, Javier Barden, Bill Murray, Mark Ruffalo, and Zoe Saldana to the rumor mill.
I'll let those names sink in for a moment.
Even if just one or two of those actors get cast from that list, I can see any combination of those working well together. They've all proven themselves in several roles, and we've seen Affleck and Pitt on screen together already. I think this one has some serious potential, and will definitely be paying more attention to it as filming starts and more information is released.
