So, a few months ago there was this really strange report that Disney was pulling all of its DVD copies of the original TRON off of retail and rental shelves because they were worried its dated effects would hurt TRON: Legacy at the box office. As strange as that seems, it kind of makes sense. But at the same time it dashed my hopes of a TRON blu-ray for the holidays.
Well now, The HD Room is posting what they believe to be the cover art for the upcoming TRON blu-ray release. Or should I say "TRON: The Original Classic". Hit the jump to check out the unfortunate "art".

Well that's... fun? Granted, the effects in the first film are very very very dated. But there are PLENTY of still very cool images that could be put on the cover in place of this (like, I dunno the original poster as seen above). And what's with the new subtitle? I understand Disney's need to distinguish the original from Legacy once they're both on DVD, but c'mon man! Maybe if they didn't dumb down the color scheme to match the black and blue that is the sequel, confusion wouldn't be a problem.
In fairness, the site says this may not be the 100% final cover art. So there's still hope here.

Oh wow, that boxart is TERRIBLE. Wow. WOW. That looks like an Atari 2600 game, not a blockbuster movies from the 1980s. (Yet, I'm still totally going to buy this when it comes out.)
...wat.......
Disney should use the original poster art. It's distinct and very beautiful. The current Blu-Ray artwork makes it look like a cheap Asian pirate copy!
Isn't that RAM, not TRON anyway?
"Tron The Original Classic" ? Not to be confused with "Coca Cole Classic" "New Coke" or "Coke" because the original one sheet would've been terrible?
