Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 10:01AM The First 36 Minutes of 'My Best Friend's Birthday,' Quentin Tarantino's First Film
According to Dangerous Minds, the movie was originally 70 minutes long, but the rest of the film was destroyed in a fire at the processing lab. As a result, My Best Friend's Birthday was never officially released.
After the jump, we have the surviving 36 minutes for you ...
The film is certainly rough around the edges and it's hard to judge the entire film with only part of it surviving, but it is really cool to be able to see that a lot of Tarantino's signature style already existed in 1984 and has simply been refined and honed over the years. And for all of you aspiring filmmakers out there, it shows you what you can do with a few friends and a small budget.
