This sure is a strange way to market the third film of a trilogy. To have the cast, and even director, go around and say, "We're really sorry about the last film, we'll do better, we promise!" just seems to be an odd tactic. It sounds more like a line a guy says after a horrible break up, then wants his ex back.

But yes, Michael Bay is again talking about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It was hardly a failure; on a $200 million budget, it doubled that in domestic ticket sales, then doubled again for foreign ticket sales for a combined gross of $836 million. But there he is, bullhorn in hand, with Shia LeBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley climbing on a wind turbine-looking Transformer, saying why his last film was a failure.
There's a full interview if you want to read it here, but it's appropriately summed up with Bay's line:
"It was too big of a movie. There were too many endings or too many things that felt like endings."
From there, he talks about going back-to-basics for the third and his likely final film for Transformers. Now, say what you will, I always like to give some credit to guys in Hollywood who are willing to say that they've made a mistake, and want to do better. And while the last one was a decent popcorn flick, it certainly wasn't something I wanted to watch more than once, or even tell my friends it was worth seeing. If Transformers: Dark of the Moon even improves an Abiding Dude's worth over it's predecessor, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm glad he owned up to it. However who is to blame? I mean people (myself included) sat in the theatre for 2 plus hours of that toxic POS. I don't know where to begin about how GOD awful the film was. Whether it was "Punk Ass Decepticon" Line or the F*** me Megan Fox shot on the motorcycle or the twins. I had to take the "Silkwood" shower after that film.
Honestly? I'd blame Micheal Bay first, simply because he directs the feel of the film. We wouldn't have had that ridiculous shot of Fox on that motorcycle otherwise. Then maybe whoever decided to include those bogus, worthless characters? Not sure if that was Bay, the scriptwriters, or some other party. Then the visions Shia LeBeouf had to advance the story and give his character a reason to be in the film... there were just so many things wrong that everyone coming back needs to work that much harder for the third movie.
