Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 11:58AM Sundance Coverage: Paramount Picks Up 'Like Crazy' for $4 Million

As you guys know we're a couple days in to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. For many films, they just premiered a screening of the film to the press. Like Crazy is one of those films and was instantly critically acclaimed by press and film reviewers within the first 24 hours and this caused an intense bidding war. So who won?
After an all-night bidding war Paramount won the rights by paying $4 million for the film directed by Drake Doremus. The love drama film stars Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin. The story centers around two lovers who fall head over heels for each other in Los Angeles but the girl's student visa runs out and the two are forced to continue their relationship long distance.
The storyline might not do the film justice as it's wonderfully directed and feels more like an art-house project. We'll keep you posted more on this and any significant moves at Sundance!
