AICN reports that Keanu Reeves revealed some pretty interesting news at a key note speech in the UK for the London School of Performing Arts University.

The biggest news being that he met with the Wachowski's around Christmas to discuss Matrix 4 and 5. In fact, they completed work on the script and even met with Jim Cameron to get his thoughts on 3D filmmaking. Reeves sounds excited to be back as Neo and swears that they aim to revolutionize the action genre once again.
The original Matrix is one of my favorite movies of all time and I think is responsible for many of the over-the-top action sequences in superhero movies today. But Matrix 2 was a disappointment compared the the original and Matrix 3 was even more disappointing than the second one. I'm afraid that if this trend continues, Matrix 4 and 5 will officially kill the franchise.
Lets hope that if they do end up making the film, it truly redefines the action genre once again.

Whoa...
I agree that the first Matrix is brilliant. I could watch it every day if I had the time. The second HALF of the second one is pretty fabulous, too. That car chase scene is excellent. However, I can't say there's anything in the third one that stands out at all. I feel like that one already killed the franchise. But meh...maybe they can pull off a miracle.
At least the good news is, it has no where to go but up...
The 2nd film had great action sequences but it was so damn confusing. Everytime i watch it i catch something else that i didn't catch the first 20 times i've seen it. I would definately be down for more but hopefully they go back to the basic story so you don't have to have a Ph D in 5 different fields to understand what they are talking about.
Maybe they can make 2 and 3 a dream, and then the real matrix trilogy will be 1, 4 and 5.
Hoax.
