Generally, a film that pins two couples in one apartment over the course of 90 minutes or so doesn't look this entertaining. The new comedy/drama or dramedy Carnage starring Jodie Foster, John C. Reilly, Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz from director Roman Polanski seems to pull off so much with very little in place. Meaning, a cast of only four people in one setting surprisingly equals a very funny looking movie in this case.
The story places two sets of parents, the Longstreets (Foster, Reilly) and the Cowans (Winslet, Waltz) in a cordial meeting to discuss both of their sons' involvement in a schoolyard fight. What starts out as a casual disagreement becomes much more heated, as the couples begin to despise each other and their spouses in the process.
The trailer does the film much more justice than I possibly could by describing it. John C. Reilly looks hilarious as always, while Foster, Winslet and Waltz show why their are such highly regarded actors, as well as Oscar award winners. I also love Kate Winslet.
Their performances in Carnage look amazing, and I for one I'm super stoked to see this movie in theaters on December 16th.
