Video games turned movies aren't exactly a new process. Now Facebook video games turned movies could be the next craze, with Mafia Wars reportedly getting a look months ago. FarmVille is the latest game garnering possible big screen attention, and even has two of the original four writers behind Toy Story interested in penning the script.
IGN recently spoke with Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen, who mentioned a few upcoming projects they're working on including an un-named game from Zynga. The two revealed they are "working on several new and very exciting opportunities." They even secretively (but not really) dropped hints about Farmville. They said, "Can't really say too much on that front yet, but 'Old MacDonald' didn't have a factory if you get our drift."
Loud and clear writers. We catch your not too subtle drift about your plans to create a Farmville animated or live action movie in the future. I can't say I'd make any attempt to see it, but know die hard fans of the game and children would most definitely flock to theaters to see such a movie.
Of all the great video games out now, I'm a little stunned to see Farmville lined up for the silver screen first. How exciting would it be to watch a farmer tending to his or her crops? Zzzz.
