Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 7:10AM Sandra Bullock to Join Clint Eastwood in 'Trouble With The Curve'?
Last week GTBP reported that Clint Eastwood was thinking of stepping in front of the camera as an actor for the first time since Gran Torino. Now big time actress, and fellow Oscar winner Sandra Bullock may co-star with Eastwood in the new baseball drama Trouble With The Curve, Twitch reported earlier. The new film is set to be helmed by Eastwood's long time producing partner/part-time assistant director Robert Lorenz and will mark his directorial debut.
The story will focus on an aging baseball scout (Eastwood), who despite losing his sight plans to make one last trip before he retires. The old scout brings his daughter (Bullock?) along for the ride to share in the experience.
It's unknown how far the negotiations with Bullock have advanced, but Eastwood and Lorenz are reportedly onboard for sure. If she signs on, this will be another big project to add to her full plate of upcoming movies. She has the post-9/11 drama Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close coming out in January, as well sci-fi epic Gravity with George Clooney later next year.
I've enjoyed Bullock's work in films like Crash and The Blind Side, so she's seems like a suitable choice of co-star for Eastwood in his triumphant return to acting. I would like to see how Trouble With The Curve develops first before I get too interested in it.
