‘Sin City 2’ Back On Track for Spring Start

For all of you who have been waiting patiently for this sequel, like I have, it seems like there may be the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.  At the recently concluded New York Comic-Con, Frank Miller sat down for an interview with MTV and among the subjects was the long delayed sequel to his popular Sin City film. “Robert Rodriquez and I are finishing up the script on Sin City right now and could be shooting as early as next spring”, he stated.

He went on to add that Sin City number two is primarily an adaptation of the book 'A Dame to Kill For'." Miller also indicated that the short story “Just Another Saturday Night’ will be included as well as two new stories.  One of those new stories, “The Long Bad Night” was revealed during this past summer’s San Diego Comic-Con by co-collaborator Rodriquez. 

Whether it’s the new “Bad Night” storyline or the still unnamed one, we’ll be treated to ample screen-time from the character of Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba).  Besides being a central character in “Dame”, Miller noted that he wrote the “Bad Night” storyline specifically to feature Nancy and as a way to tie the two films together.

Another prominent character in SC2 should be that of Marv (Mickey Rourke).  A few years ago Mr. Rourke didn’t seem overly enthusiastic with re-creating his character, but everyone knows that actors usually never say never…again.

Just like the old adage of letting fine wine age, (last night's Vintage 29 Cabinet defiantly supports that) this sequel holds the promise for us to be rewarded with true excellence.
