'Ender's Game', 'Red 2' & Others Nab Release Dates

Finding out the theatrical release dates of new movies can be almost as exciting as the movies themselves, almost.  Yesterday, one of my favorite movie sites, not named Get the Big Picture.net, BoxOfficeMojo.com posted dates for some of Summit's upcoming movies, such as the film adaptation of Orson Scott Card's sci-fi tale Ender's Game, the sequel to Red and a movie reunion for Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson.

Here are three of the other films headed our way from Summit.

For you dance fiends out there Step Up 4 comes out earlier than the other films, next summer (July 27, 2012).  It's hard to believe there were three movies that came before this one that I also didn't want to see.

The next film, Warm Bodies that is being described as a "zombie romance" comes to theaters August 10, 2012.  Here's the IMDB synopsis: A zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims.  Analeigh Tipton, Teresa Palmer, Lizzy Caplan (love her) and John Malkovich star in a movie that sounds dumb as hell to me.

The last of the summer 2012 bunch is Sinister, which stars Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio and James Ransone (The Wire, Generation Kill).  This one follows a journalist who finds footage that reveals disturbing clues about a family's murder that happened in his new house.  Sinister hits theaters on August 24, 2012.

The Zombieland reunion of Harrelson and Eisenberg as magicians, who pull bank heists during their illusionist performances in the movie Now You See Me will magically appear in theaters on January 18, 2013.

The Ender's Game adaptation, which Summit acquired the film rights to back in April will be theater bound on March 13, 2013.  Ender's Game is set in the future where mankind is at war with aliens.  The story centers on a young boy named Ender Wiggin, who joins other talented children in playing games against each other as training to one day fight the aliens themselves.  Sounds like a winner to me.

Finally, Red 2 is slated for theatrical release on August 2, 2013.  Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, mad man Malkovich and Morgan Freeman are expected to reprise their roles as retired, yet still incredibly lethal former black-ops agents.  Word is they're going to throw more new faces into the mix this time around, which I'm assuming means more screen time and a bigger part for Karl Urban who rocked in Red.
