The director and writer behind Juno, Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody have brought us the new comedy Young Adult starring Charlize Theron (love her) as a Paris Hilton-esque fiction writer, who refuses to grow up. After her character, Mavis Gary gets divorced she moves back to her small hometown in Minnesota, and attempts to rekindle with an old flame (Patrick Wilson). Only problem is her ex-boyfriend is now happily married with a child on the way, but she still pursues him anyway.
Patton Oswalt stars as her drinking buddy/sidekick of sorts and clearly tries to be her voice of reason. Mavis views the marriage and children as just a hurdle she must overcome to get her man back, which looks pretty hilarious.
Theron looks like a stone cold bitch in this one, but funny and with room for redemption.
Young Adult will be in theaters December 16th. I'm going to wait for on it Netflix, but to each their own.
