Russell Brand, fresh off the unfortunate Arthur re-make, announced that he’ll star in and produce The President Stole My Girlfriend. Warner Bros. Pictures recently picked up the comedy from a script written by Matt Portenoy. Portenoy’s Porky’s rewrite is garnering positive reviews in the industry so look to see a lot more of him in the near future.

Brand had this to say to The Hollywood Reporter when asked about the story’s plot; “It was inspired by the night I naively invited Jeff Robinov for dinner."

Before this project sees the light of day we’ll be exposed to Brand as he was cast in the role of Lonnie in the Tom Cruise starrer, Rock of Ages.
Brand better hope for better box-office luck with this project or his sobriety will be pushed to the limit when the tabloids start referring to him as Mister Perry.
