Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 6:11PM Kristen Stewart Offered Female Lead in 'Akira'?
Kristen Stewart should stick to hanging out with werewolves & vampires
As if the the live-action, english language Akira movie wasn't being met with enough skepticism, now it's being reported that Twilight star Kristen Stewart has been offered the female lead in it. According to Twitch, Stewart who's currently filming Snow White and The Huntsman, while also promoting the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 (in theaters this Friday) is being considered for the role of Kei in the Akira reboot.
While no official announcements have been made or reports of negotiations actually taking place, Stewart is the latest actor to be linked to director Jaume Collet-Serra's Akira project. GTBP's David Hoffman pointed out a couple of weeks ago that TRON: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund, along with Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham Carter were also being pursued for the cast in the remake of the anime Akira that came out in 1988. Though nothing official has been reported on that front either. You can also throw the name Keira Knightley into rumored mix of players as well.
Akira is the story of the leader of biker gang who tries to save his kidnapped amigo from being the test subject of a powerful, super natural experiment. Hedlund is rumored to be the lead character Kaneda, while Stewart, if she signs on the dotted line would play Kaneda's main squeeze Kei.
I'm not opposed to Akira being a live-action remake, considering I've never seen the original. It was bound to happen sooner or later. However, I am against Stewart getting the lead opposite of presumably Hedlund. Not even the involvement of Oscar worthy talents like Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham Carter can mask just how terrible of an actor Kristen Stewart is.
I hope this report doesn't go much further than just being a casting couch rumor, but with the new Twilight dominating the headlines this week it might be too late.

I haven't seen the original as well But, I guess Kristen can play the role well. She's a great actress.

But these do not affect the designer's own brand and sub-brand Marc by Marc Jacobs. He designed the bag sales are still hot. Such as: Marc Jacobs Handbag and Marc by Marc Jacobs Handbag. Both are selling well. In fact, Marc by Marc Jacobs Bags series as well. Indeed very attractive.

I accept your article, you have all the concepts. They are very convincing, we must work. However, the position for beginners is too short. You may apply only to lower it? In gratitude.

... how can you continue to report on the film if you have not watched the original source material? None of this makes sense it is totally set in Japan and the biker gang is just one of the sub-plots that drive the original text. There are numerous other outside plots that also drive the over-all story of the original, now to think that Kristen or for that fact any of the actors listed out of Gary Oldman can handle such a complex and character driven film is stupid. Watch the original and see for your self if it should even be made... by americans.
