Boy and girls, gather round. We have an interesting story to tell, it's one about mysteries of the universe and its told by Ridley Scott. You know the guy behind Alien, Blade Runner and the many other movies he's done since. Prometheus is his return to science-fiction and boy does it look grand.
Apologies to anyone turned off by that story-time session, but all this news about Prometheus (a supposed prequel/timeline-sharing to Alien) seemed like a fairytale until we got some set photos of the cast and now a bootlegged trailer of the film.
Sure Comic-Con received a sneak peek to an 18-second teaser trailer and we've received some official photos from Entertainment Weekly, but now we'll hopefully get a beautiful HD version on the web soon.
Until then, enjoy this version that's out on the web and as soon as an official version is released, we'll be bring it to you.
Personally, the film looks huge. Wrapped in some crazy and gigantic special effects and that tagline: "They went looking for earth's beginning. What they found, could be it's end." Eerie indeed, it's no wonder the entire production has been so secretive, the footage (as blurry as it may be for now) looks fairly iconic, and I doubt we'll be disappointed on that front. The one thing I'm wary about is the film's plot/story. I'm not expecting a prequel like many seem to speculate, but I'm just here to enjoy whatever it is.
What do you GTBP readers think of the footage?
Prometheus is directed by Ridley Scott and co-written by Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts. Starring Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson, Idris Elba and Michael Fassbender. The film opens 8 June 2012.
