Matt Damon Goes Bald for Elysium
Believe it or not, there's another movie I'm anticipating as much as The Dark Knight Rises, Neil Blomkamp's sophmore effort to District 9 titled Elysium. Elysium is a futuristic drama that stars Matt Damon as a prisoner, but sadly I know little beyond that. Jodie Foster, Diego Luna (Contraband), Sharlto Copley (District 9), Alice Braga (Predators) and Wagner Moura (Elite Squad) co-star in the project currently filming in Mexico City.
Reforma Magazine has released new images that Movieland has kindly posted online. Check them out in Spanish after the jump.
The first one shows Damon in a sort of futuristic body armor, I guess. Warning the pics are real low-res, but are still better than nothing.
The folllowing images are of the set and surrounding areas. The one below of the not-too-distant future Los Angeles transit bus is pretty cool.
Looks like Blomkamp envisions another gloom and doom future society with underlying themes of political oppression in Elysium, much like with District 9. These images are pretty crappy, but for the first officially released pics for the film, they'll do for now. Elysium won't be out until March 1, 2013, so there's still time to get other movie goers as excited as me for this one.

I assume those 3 will stay in Japan because knowing the mentality of the vast majority of watch snobs, nobody outside Japan will pay $400k for a Seiko. As a proud owner of a Seiko Spring Drive Ananta I can say with 100% certainty: their loss!
