Monday, November 28, 2011 at 12:19PM New Migraine-Inducing 'Men In Black 3' Poster Released
The Men in Black series is one I have to admit I never liked, even before the incredibly lazy Men in Black II that most people shared my distaste for. The sheer boredom with which Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones dispense of alien villainy always kind of killed the suspense. Granted, that was supposed to be one of the series' main jokes, but I never found it to be very funny. But now, as Men in Black III nears it's release date, they've released a poster that gave me a headache. And not for the reasons you probably think.
I think that this was designed by a blind man who hates people with visionY'know those massive pictures-made-of-text that you occasionally see posted on message boards? Well, someone over at Columbia Pictures is getting poster ideas from internet trolls. I'm assuming that the poster is in 3D, as that's the technology the movie was shot in. I can't imagine just how much eye strain that monstrosity would give me when you add a dimension, and it certainly doesn't make me want to watch an entire movie that way.
This really doesn't help the negative buzz from bizarre production problems, which included having to stop the filming for three months just to work on the script. Will Smith is an actor who deserves more than the series can offer, so with this project out of the way, he can hopefully move on to other projects. Hopefully ones other then Hancock II.
