Tom Cruise, a man that continues to defy actors boundaries even at the age of 50. Seeing him perform his own stunts (at least for the most part) on Dubai's Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building in the upcoming IMAX release of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and then seeing him rock out his charisma as an 80s rocker is beyond me. We have the new trailer and poster for Rock of Ages, directed by Adam Shankman which stars a very packed lineup of known actors.
See, I wasn't kidding. Even though we don't see much, Cruise still puts all of his effort in presence alone. Having Alec Baldwin mistaking women for men in drag and Catherine Zeta-Jones sing Twisted Sister is extraordinarily odd.
Quick take on Rock of Ages:
Set in 1987 as two young people (Boneta, Hough) fall in love try to make it big in Los Angeles. This is set against the backdrop of a rock club that comes under fire when the mayor's hyper-conservative wife (Zeta-Jones) tries to shut it down.

Rocks of Ages is directed by Adam Shankman, based on the Broadway play by Chris D'Arienzo. Starring Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Malin Ackerman, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston, Mary J. Blige, and Alec Baldwin. The film will be released 1 June 2012.
