The Wachowskis (The Matrix, V for Vendetta) have proven their most daring movie project yet, Cloud Atlas will certainly be visually stunning. Thanks to Twitch film we now get an opportunity to see the concept artwork behind this upcoming star-studded film. The sci-flick due out in October, 2012 took a little heat and was met with skepticism this summer when it was reported actors like Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Sturgess, Hugo Weaving and Susan Sarandon would be playing characters of different sexes and races.
IMDB synopsis: Six stories set in a different time and place become intricately related to each other.
Basically, Cloud Atlas could be an innovative masterpiece or an epic disaster. It's just too early to tell. To its credit, the first released clips of concept art (below) are decent. The word is it will closely resemble the David Mitchell novel from which it is based, so if you're familiar with the book you may know what to expect with the film adapatation.

Having been impressed with the Wachowskis past work, you have to be at least a little optimistic about Cloud Atlas after seeing these first images. The fact they've teamed with Run Lola Run and The International writer/director Tom Tykwer here leads me to believe this project that has raised so many eyebrows could actually be damn good when it's all said and done.
