Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:17AM Mark Wahlberg On Casting Justin Bieber

Oh Marky Mark, why have you gone and done such a terrible thing? Either way, Mark Wahlberg has cast Justin Bieber for a "big-screen effort" with Paramount early next year and speaks to MTV News about his choice while doing some promotion for his action film Contraband. Basically: intuition. Something is going to go terribly wrong, I can feel it.
Wahlberg spoke about Bieber's "potential" and his "work ethic":
"I see the guy and spent time with him and you see what he does and how he does it," Wahlberg said, "and then you actually have a conversation with him and it's there."
Clearly, rousing the singer's teen fans to the point of exhaustion, Wahlberg has an effective plan B "should Bieber have struggles: "If not, I will extract it.""
Wahlberg also said at the MTV Movie Awards on what to expect:
"Think ofThe Color of Money," Wahlberg said of his part. "I get this call from Paramount [with a story about] an old guy and a young guy," suggesting actors like Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro and Robert Duvall for the "old guy" role.
"We pitched [Paramount] the idea and, you know, we're talking about doing it," he said at the time. "[Bieber's] been sending me video, he sent me a video of himself, and, yeah, I think hes really talented."
Here's the video featuring this insane ineptitude:

Oh, and Marky Mark doesn't want you to forget that Contraband opens in theaters January 13, 2012 co-starring Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Beckinsale. Silver linings people, silver linings.
