Friday, December 30, 2011 at 9:45AM Even More 'Amazing Spider-Man' Details Leaked Through Toys

Someone over at Columbia Pictures really needs to put some kind of lid on the merchandising department. As readers may recall, the appearance of The Amazing Spider-Man's villain, The Lizard, was leaked when a picture of the PEZ dispenser bearing his likeness was released. Now, we're getting a better look at him and some plot details from the pictures of a few more miniature plastic goods that have been leaked. This confirms a rumor that surfaced about a year ago regarding the films climax, so a SPOILER warning is in full effect.

Ok, so the first picture shows us the existence of so-called Swat Lizards, swat team members that the transformed Dr. Conners has changed using the same chemicals that turned him into a villain. It's...interesting, I'll admit that, and it shows how they can raise the stakes of the story without having to introduce something new.
The main thing that catches my eye, though, is a more real-life appearence of The Lizard. It seemed "meh" from what we saw before and it seems just as "meh" now. It's the kind of thing you'd expect to see in a sci-fi TV show, not a summer blockbuster that costs $150+ million to make. You see those teeth? They look like baby teeth, compared to what he should have. He's gonna have to demonstrate some pretty insane skills for me to feel the list bit intimidated by him.
The Amazing Spider-Man is scheduled for release on July 3 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Rhys Ifans.
