The marketing campaign for the Farrelly Brothers The Three Stooges is that everyone will "get stooged" when the comedy hits theaters on April 13, 2012. I guess that's just like "getting smurfed", whatever the hell that means. The Farrellys went out of their way to bring in relative unknowns, Will Sasso (Mad TV), Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) and Chris Diamantopoulos (24) to resurrect the iconic, funny exploits of Larry (Hayes), Moe (Diamantopoulos) and Curly (Sasso), and the trio do not disappoint.
Tonight we have the first trailer for the brothers latest comedy, and the movie is very reminiscent of theslapstick, physical comedy the Stooges are known for, just like back in the old days. There are plenty of eye gouging and groin shot moments to go around in this modern remake, and the new players definitely sell the audience on the pain inflicted by the constant beatings the brothers throw at one another.
The movie looks incredibly stupid, but it's The Three Stooges (not exactly high brow stuff). Where the Farrellys clearly excelled here with the Stooges is that Larry, Moe and Curly are true to the nature that was established for them many years ago.

Oh my God, this looks awesome. I was always a fan of The Three Stooges growing up and this remake, though modernized, looks and sounds exactly like the serials I remember watching.
