Trailer for Rom Com 'The Five-Year Engagement'

Emily Blunt way too hot for Jason Segel even in a bad photo.There's a big difference between rom coms like The Five-Year Engagement (produced by genius Judd Apatow) and ones in the mold of New Year's Eve...One looks funny and cute, while the other could be used more effectively as a torture device.  Basically, there needs to be a sub genre for rom coms.  One in which Bridesmaids has already set the bar really high in, as a romantic comedy that is more hilarious than cute with subtle humor.

The Five-Year Engagement doesn't look nearly as humorous as Bridesmaids, but make no mistake it looks funny.  And with Jason Segel starring and also a co-writer of the script, this rom com has real potential.  Unfortunately, the trailer doesn't do the movie much justice, other than a few laughs here and there, and to show us how unmistakably sexy Emily Blunt is.  

The movie comes from the comedic minds of Segel and Nicolas Stoller (Get Him to the Greek, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), so there's a proven duo behind The Five-Year Engagement despite a trailer that falls kind of flat.  The last scene is really good, as is Segel's apron.  It arrives in theaters April 27, 2012, so hopefully a funnier red band trailer emerges before it's released.
