Shane Black May Take Over 'Iron Man 3'

Couple of weeks back Jon Favreau dropped the bomb that he will not direct Iron Man 3.  Given that the first two was wildly entertaining, this was a huge disappointment to fans.  Since then, Marvel has been scrambling to find another director who can fill Favreau's big shoes.

Heat Vision reports, that man may be Shane Black best known for the writer for the Lethal Weapon series.  Right now it's just a rumor at best but the meeting involved him directing and possibly writing the script for Iron Man 3.  What interests Marvel about Black, is his existing relationship with Robert Downey Jr. when they worked on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang together.  

I think this can be a great fit for Iron Man 3.  Lethal Weapon is a great example of bringing comedy and action together and Iron Man certainly has that feel.
