Jennifer Lawrence to Star in Oliver Stone's 'Savages'

Once again I'm reminded why I need to get off my butt and go watch the Academy award nominee Winter's Bone.  The star of the film, Jennifer Lawrence has also been nominated for Best Actress and is now on every filmmaker's radar.  You may have actually seen her today in the incredible new trailer for X-Men: First Class, where she plays the lovely villain Mystique.

According to Deadline, Hollywood's hottest new actress has decided to star in Oliver Stone's next project Savages.

Savages is a film adaptation of the bestselling Don Winslow novel about two Laguna Beach pot dealers who due to some odd arrangement share the same girlfriend (Lawrence).  The three of them find trouble when an enforcer from the Mexican drug cartel wants to stop the pot dealers from continuing their business. 

Apparently, Stone and company have an offer out to Benicio Del Toro to fill the role of the tough drug enforcer.  They've also been meeting with a huge number of actors to play the two young men, including older actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, James Franco and Tom Hardy to younger actors who may be a better fit for the age of the characters in Aaron Johnson and Garrett Hedlund. 

Whoever the studio ultimately picks, those two lucky bastards should have at least one or two steamy love scenes with Jennifer Lawrence each.  And they say acting is hard work.
