Last Christmas, I posted a fake trailer mash-up of Home Alone and I Am Legend entitled I Am Home Alone. If you already knew that, then you are well aware of my love for well crafted fake film trailers. And, in the words of the late great Biggie Smalls, if ya didn't know, now ya know...
Now, at this late hour, I bring you another fantastic fake trailer this time for a sequel to the '80s classic E.T. entitled E.T. X: Extinction. If you couldn't guess by the title, the E.T.s aren't so friendly this go 'round in this alien invasion thriller. Check out the star-studded trailer below featuring Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis, and even President Obama.
The fan created sequel trailer comes courtesy of Robert Blankenheim and Derek Johnson Productions and picks up 20+ years after the first film's conclusion. While most fake trailers are just a re-edit of previous film footage, what sets this one apart is that the guys behind it actually shot new scenes to play into the sequel's premise. The end result is a logical and hilarious set up for this thriller. Well done guys.
But I'm not sure what scares me most: the creepy killer E.T.s, the bad acting of grown up Henry Thomas, or the fact that with the state of the film industry today something like this might actually get made in the future.
