Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 12:01PM Cobie Smulders May Play Agent Maria Hill in 'Avengers'
If you watch one of my favorite TV shows on air right now, then you'll know Cobie Smulders from How I Met Your Mother. Now, word has it that she is the lead candidate to play Nick Fury's sidekick in The Avengers.
Couple days ago, we reported that Samuel L. Jackson was on Jimmy Fallon and revealed that he will be auditioning five female candidates to play this mystery character. It seems that Maria Hill was that character and Morena Baccarin (star of V would've been my choice), Jessica Lucas, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead alongside Cobie Smulders tried out for the part. No idea who the 5th person was.
Maria Hill is the ruthless executive director of SHIELD until Tony Stark takes over. The Avengers will be released May 4th, 2012 and should be one of the biggest hits of the year as it combines some of the most favorite superheroes on the big screen.
These Marvel superhero contracts are very lucrative as it's usually a multi-picture deal. Then again Terrence Howard got screwed with his, so I'm not sure how binding these contracts are. As Samuel L. Jackson revealed, his contract was for nine pictures.
