The Farrelly Brothers, while promoting their current movie Hall Pass in a recent press junket, released news about a planned follow-up to the 1994 smash hit Dumb and Dumber. Brother Bobby Farrelly even mentioned in an interview with Moviehole how great it would be to reunite former funny man Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels again as the pair of jackasses, Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne for the next film.

"[Dumb and Dumber] has run a bunch of times on TV in the states, and kids will come up and they'll be able to quote lines from that--lines that I've long forgotten. If we could get those two guys back together, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels that might be a worthwhile sequel--and that ball is in motion," Bobby said. "We're starting to think about what those two dimwits would be doing twenty-years later in life, hopefully we'll be able to come up with something worthy of a sequel."
I've long been wondering how these characters would or wouldn't evolve for a future story line, and am full of questions. Would Lloyd still be obsessed with Mary? Did the guys worm farm business ever take off? Did Sea Bass ever get his revenge?
I wouldn't mind seeing Carrey return to his slapstick, physical comedy roots with the Farrellys either. The first movie was one of my favorites to quote, along with The Big Lebowski, so news of a possible sequel is music to my ears.
Is this sequel worthy of our attention or a waste of our time?

Let me be the first to say Dumb and Dumber has long been my favorite movie, always will be. Classic comedy. I would love love love to see a sequel, crappy or not, but it would "music to my ears." However, for years Jim Carrey has always said NO to the idea. Dissapointing, I know. So please keep us posted, because I would be first in line!
I think there is little doubt that this movie would be HUGE! Everyone i know has seen and still quotes lines from the movie. Dumb and Dumber is without a doubt the best comedy movie of all time. I have never laughed as hard as i did for an entire movie as i did for this movie. There have been a few that have made me laugh just as hard(This weeks Hall Pass from the Farrelly Brothers). Just not for the entire 1 1/2 to 2 hour runtime. We need this sequel but it has to be Jim and Jeff. None of that Dumber and Dumberer crap. That was just bad
