Megan Fox in Next Apatow Film?

We have our first word on what Judd Apatow's next project is going to be, and it's a bit surprising. Apparently it will feature Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann reprising their role as a married couple from Knocked Up. In addition, THR reports that their costar will probably be Megan Fox.

We all know that Fox is known much more for her looks than her acting chops, but I've gotta say think this casting could really work. We saw a hint at just how subtly funny Fox can be in Jennifer's Body, and it's not too hard to imagine that kind of ability translating well into an Apatow film. The deal isn't official yet—it's of the all too often heard "in talks" variety—but it sounds like it's pretty likely.

While I can definitely see Megan Fox working in an Apatow movie, the more surprising news from this comes with the word that this next film may be a quasi-sequel to Knocked Up. Rudd and Mann were certainly funny in that movie, but their characters don't strike me as ones that you could base an entire plot around. Not that Apatow's movies have ever followed traditional plot tenets, though, and of course that's part of why those of us who like them do.
