Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 3:05AM Another 'Narnia' Movie Based on The Magician's Nephew
Walden Media is talking to Fox about making another Narnia movie and if they do, it'll be based on Magician's Nephew which is a prequel to all the stories already released. As you know the last one was the third installment called The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which didn't do particularly well at the box office.
The last Narnia movie didn't meet expectations but still did $104 million domestic. How many films can have a bad opening and do over $100 million? Not many. It also made a whopping $300 million at the international box office.
So, yes they will release Chronicles of Narnia: Magician's Nephew which is one of the worst novels by C.S. Lewis. I always say, we vote with our dollars. As long as people see it, no matter how crappy the movies are they'll release new versions as long as it's financially justifiable.

Well, they've taken a lot of liberties with the adaptations of the Narnia books so far so they could do as well with "The Magicians Nephew" to make it more cinematic and to work in continuity with what they've made so far. I think as adaptations of great fantasy novels go Narnia is as important as "Lord of the Rings", so I'm glad they're making the effort to complete the whole series.
