Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 4:19PM 'Transformers 3' Has Leonard Nimoy as Sentinel Prime

By now you probably saw the Transformers 3 previews. You know, the one that looks eerily similar to the preview of Apollo 18. Well if you've seen it, you'd know that the preview features a messed up autobot and that autobot is Sentinel Prime. Sentinel Prime is the predecessor to Optimus Prime as the leader of the autobots.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Leonard Nimoy will be the voice of Sentinel Prime. This is pretty significant since it's widely known that Nimoy is retired from acting. Still, I guess he can tell himself that voice acting is still not really acting so technically, he's still in retirement. Hey, whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night.
Also, another big reason why he's doing this is he's married to Susan Bay, whose Michael Bay's cousin. I wouldn't even recognize Leonard Nimoy's voice so I'm thinking its just a novelty "cool" factor for the Star Trek fans out there.

Or you know they picked him up because he played Galvartron in the original 1986 Transformers film. And most likely filled in the voice for the late great Orson Welles who died while doing the voice for Unicron. Other than that hey he is enjoying his 80th by writing, painting, doing audio books and supposedly showing up in the Hobbit. Some retirement.
