Friday, April 1, 2011 at 12:18PM 'The Hangover Part II' Trailer: It's Funny in Any Language

For a majority of the people that paid to see Sucker Punch this week, the highlight of those two hours happened before the opening credits when The Hangover Part II's teaser trailer rolled. Like I mentioned before, the audience in my screening literally stood up and cheered when the screen read "The Wolfpack is back". Well now the wolfpack is back in full effect with the release of the film's first theatrical trailer. And it doesn't disappoint in any way.
Check it out after the jump.
So you may be saying to yourself, "Haven't I seen this movie before?" Three guys. Bachelor party. Lost memory. Lost member of the crew. Tiny Asian guy with a funny accent. And the answer is simple, yes, you have seen it before. It was amazing the first time and it will be the second. A lot of online buzz about the trailer thus far has been negative for this reason, but I argue the other side. Where a lot of comedy sequels fail is in trying to stray too far from the original concept in order to show growth. But here, the first film found such a sweet spot in its formula that if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Also, the trailer didn't give away much at all. Yeah, we got the setup, but the funniest parts of the film weren't shoved down our throats. That may be the case when we see the first red band trailer, as I'm sure a majority of the comedy will be R-rated. But, I have a good feeling the best will be saved for the theaters, just like the first time around.
Now, what did you guys think?

I'm digging it. I had my reservations about the sequel, but they're starting to fade.
