Monday, April 18, 2011 at 8:34AM Lindsay Lohan May Be Cast as Lana Lang in 'Superman'
Say it ain't so. A couple days back, we reported that Lindsay Lohan was meeting with producers of Superman for a role of a villain. Now comicbooknews.com reports that she is actually being considered for the role of Lana Lang.
Says CBN, "She will be a popular girl in high school who doesn't give Clark the time of day. While Clark can't really show Lana who he really is (a super man), she eventually discovers for herself when sees Clark do a rescue."
Again, another rumor. And this should be taken with a grain of salt. But the fact that people are looking at her for this role is scary. I personally think she's a problem child and the last thing you need in a nine-figure blockbuster film is someone who may be put in jail at any moment due to some bad decision making.
I'm still willing to bet at the end of the day, she won't be cast.

Honestly, she isn't a terrible actress and this could be her chance to prove that to a lot of people. Everyone forgets that people are casted upon their ability to act and not their personal lives. Look at all the bad press surrounding Tom Cruise, and yet he is an incredible actor. But, people refuse to like his movies just because of what People or US Weekly may say about him. I say, give Lohan a chance. I think she could really surprise a lot of people with her performance.
TJ, to be fair I never said she's a terrible actress. She's a C+ level actress who if was clean, could have been in a ton more movies. In this case, her personal life does effect her ability to get roles. People just don't know if she'll get in trouble and delay things.
I wouldn't consider Tom Cruise "incredible". He's a 'B+' actor at best. He's been some great films and never won an Oscar. Speaking of which, I think an actor who is a much better actor and who has been in some great roles but never won an Oscar is Leonard DiCaprio. Aviator, Basketball Diaries, Blood Diamond, Gangs of New York, all amazing performances IMHO.
