Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 8:09AM Arnold Schwarzeneggar Wants To Be Like Gerald Butler?!

Say it isn't so Arnold! As he prepares to come back as an old yet cut up action star like Sly Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger admits he was impressed by Gerald Butler's body in the movie "300" and wanted to know who Butler's trainer is. Only problem is, a lot of it was CGI enhanced.
Says Schwarzenegger, "I said to ['300' producer] Mark Canton, 'You have got to get a hold of [Butler]. I want to know what his training regimen is.' Canton said, 'What are you talking about? [That look] cost me a lot of money."
I have a couple problems with this. First, I thought it was common knowledge that all the actors in 300 were "enhanced". Afterall, Xerxes isn't really 12 feet tall and the whole tint, contrast, and color of the film was distorted. Second, why the hell is Schwarzeneggar trying to get advice from Gerald Butler on how to get in shape. Mind you, Arnold was Mr. Universe...at the age of 20! He's a professional body builder. I would think if he wanted to get back in shape, he'll know better than any trainers and if he really did need a trainer for motivation purposes, he would have a rolodex that extends further than what Hollywood has to offer.
But then again, he probably took some steroids to get the look but not all of it was synthetic, was it?!

How about this - Schwarzenegger's knowledge of bodybuilding is *old*!
His knowledge might be old but he looked more cut than any of the 300 cast members even with CGI!
This story sounds odd. First, why would Arnold need to ask to contact anyone? All he has to do is look at the movie credits and he can see who are the credited trainers (one for the entire cast, plus Butler had an extra one for himself). Second, Canton's comment sounds tongue in cheek, rather than factual. There are set photos of Butler and he is absolutely as big as he looks in 300. I suspect all the actors had a little bit of makeup for abs definition, but there are too many candid photos for Canton's comment to be anything but wisea&*.
my thought is arnie just wanted to remind them about reality vs cgi
