Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:52PM Tim Robbins Adds Comedy 'Thanks for Sharing' to His Comeback Schedule
If you haven't seen Tim Robbins (pictured below) on the big screen in what seems like an eternity, just remember you're not alone. Fortunately, we can expect to see a reemergence of Mr. Robbins real soon.
The actor/political activist that wowed moviegoers, including myself in the past with unforgettable performances in The Shawshank Redemption, The Player and Mystic River has returned from his almost three hiatus from the film industry with a flurry of new projects on the horizon. In addition, to his upcoming roles in Green Latern and Odd Thomas, THR reports Robbins has also agreed to join Mark Ruffalo in the cast of the comedy Thanks for Sharing.
Robbins and Ruffalo are signed on to a story that follows three sex addicts involved in a 12-step program in New York. There's no information as to which characters the two will be portraying yet. Thanks for Sharing will be the directorial debut of The Kids Are All Right screenwriter Stuart Blumberg, who also wrote the script for this film as well.
I must admit it's pretty damn refreshing to see a multi-dimensional actor like Robbins back on the scene again. He's proved to have the comedy acting chops down cold with movies like Nothing to Lose and High Fidelity, not mention his brief appearance in Anchorman. I enjoyed The Kids Are All Right much more than I thought I would, so it's a safe bet I'll see Thanks for Sharing.
