With some funny movies coming out this year and some that have already come out, it is often debated who the funniest men on the big screen are. Some people will go with your basic Will Ferrell or Steve Carell, but they're funny in different ways. Ferrell has his signature yelling and screaming, while Carrell plays his Michael Scott-esque characters. But where I find most of the humor from a funny man in a leading role is in the delivery. Here is my list of the three funniest men on the big screen of the 2000's.
3. Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill is on his way to superstardom, and along the way has delivered great comedic performances. I first saw Jonah in his tiny role in The 40 Year Old Virgin, and you could not help but wonder who this overweight kid who wants a pair of roller skates was. His first big role that he was noticed in was Accepted, and he was great in that as well. And then a little film called Superbad came around and you can really tell that Hill was destined for comedic greatness. Almost every line in that film was delivered perfectly by Jonah and there was not one moment where he did not have the audience dying. Since Superbad he has starred in films such as: Funny People and Get Him To The Greek, where his delivery of one liners such as the, "I just saw that new Harry Potter movie, Harrys gettin old, they should start calling him Harold Potter," line in Funny People, shows his true talent. Expect plenty more films from Jonah along with plenty more laughter.

John C. Reilly is one of those unique people who are actually gifted actors (as seen in Gangs Of New York, Chicago and so on..) and have comedic talent. If you haven't seen Step Brothers, go get it right now because it is by far one of the funniest films to come out in a long time. The way he played Dale Dobak in that film was outstanding. You didn't know rather to feel bad because of how stupid the character was, or to just be laughing at the fact that he was a 40 year old trapped in a 12 year olds body. Reilly plays a recurring character on Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job! named Dr. Steve Brule, and it gets me every single time. He often plays dumb people, Like Dale. Dewey Cox in Walk Hard, and Cal Naughton in Talladega Nights and pulls them off so believably that it shows his range as a very blessed comedian.
1. Paul Rudd

Paul Rudd has been around for a very long time and been in numerous amounts of films. The first comedy I saw Paul Rudd in was the amazing Wet Hot American Summer ( if you haven't seen it, GO see it! ) and knew he was going to have a very long career. He started popping up everywhere in the 2000's in films like, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, The Ten, I Love You Man and Forgetting Sarah Marshall stealing scenes left and right. He usually plays nerdy, nice awkward characters and knows how to pull them off. "Pistol" Pete Klaven in I Love You man, was one of the best comedic performances of recently and the awkwardness brought to that character was pure genius. Paul Rudd is on top of the game right now and may be staying there for a while.

I'd have to throw Danny McBride and Seth Rogen into that mix.
I would prefer Rogen over Hill any day. Jonah really isn't that funny, and the Harold Potter line was groan worthy.
And while I'm excited to see Rudd make your list, I would knock him down a spot because Dinner for Shmucks was terrible.
