Spooky New Trailer for 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark'

Horror movie fans are guaranteed to be delighted in knowing there's another super creepy flick on the docket this summer, especially since mastermind Guillermo Del Toro is involved.  The writer/director behind the Hellboy series, has written the script for this new Don't Be Afraid of the Dark reboot, which is not expected to disappoint.

On August 26th after most of the other summer blockbusters have come and gone along with the heat, director Troy Nixey's debut film will scare the shit out of all moviegoers courageous enough to see this fear inducing tale.  Katie Holmes (Tom Cruise's boo) and the underrated Guy Pearce star in this story about a young girl (Bailee Madison) who goes to live with her father (Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Holmes) in a house overrun with ghostly creatures that want to keep the girl as their own.   Sounds very Exorcist-ish minus the flexible demon with the colorful language and angry British accent.

The horror genre doesn't scare me all that much, unless the films involve ghosts and/or haunted houses.  Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is full to the brim with both, and this trailer put a phenomenal scare into me despite not showing the creatures.  I won't be seeing it, but my hat goes off to those of you who are up to braving the elements here.
